DIDIM Mayor Mumin Kamaci has declated the opening of the new port a major successfor the resort
He said the opening would broaden the horizons of Didim’s outlook and try to capture more tourists.
Mr Kamacı said: “Didim will know no obstacles in the process of growth now.”
Answering journalists at the weekly press meeting, he said, “The cruisers brought to Didim by the Yeşil Marmaris Company belong to one of the most prestigious firms in the world.
“We have now gotten free of our local shell and put to ocean. Our goal is to promote Didim to the whole world.”
Expressing that the customs gate and those tourists would contribute greatly to Didim, Kamacı spoke, “We are expecting about 15,000 tourists via sea this year. Considering that about 60,000 tourists visit Didim every year, this figure is quite important.
“I hope that in the coming years more and more tourists will visit our district.”
He added: “This place belongs to all of us. It is in our hands to turn this place into heaven. I wish our tradesmen a good season and I ask them to serve the tourists well.”
